Synergy Series tournament rules

• Max 11 man rosters (9 skaters 2 goalies)

• Minimum 8 man (7 skaters 1 goalie)

• Each team must have a coach present on the bench (2 coaches max)

• Each team will split one bench

• Games may start up to a max of 15 min early

• Two 23 min periods / 2 min intermission / 3 min warm up 

• Run clock / Stoppage for injuries only

• Coin flip to decide home and away sides. Coaches to meet with ref prior to taking the ice. "Veteran" (older coach) will call it in the air. Winner will decide home or away side

• Teams and goalies switch sides of the bench and nets at intermission

• Face-offs only at the start of each half and after each goal*

• New puck added (thrown to far end / towards goalie) when goalie covers. If the new puck is covered by the opposing goalie the ref will call for a face-off*

• 1 min minor penalty / penalty time starts once the offending player gets off the ice

• Penalty shot + 1 min for major penalties. Shooter must be ready and start to take penalty shot within 5 seconds after penalty assessed

• New puck will be added to a neutral area of the ice if the goalie makes a save on the penalty shot

• If a penalty is awarded during an existing penalty of the same team. Penalty clock will be reset to 1 min and a penalty shot will be awarded.

• Non coincidental penalties for both teams will result in 2 on 2 play. Any additional penalty will be the same as above rule.

• Player taking PS must be on the ice at time of major. 2 majors = ejection of that game. Second major must be served by a player on the ice and a penalty shot is awarded (just like a major call)

• No timeouts

• No hitting at any age level (Competative contact is allowed)

• If a team shoots the puck out of play the new puck is awarded to the other team near their net. Team that shot the puck up must not be on that 1/2 of the ice when the puck is awarded

Each Ref will wear a wrist band controlling the clock to ensure the pace of play remains fast

Synergy Series has developed their own dasher-board system with netting to split the ice in half at the red line, ensuring the safety of all players from pucks being shot from the other side of the rink.
